Focuswriter transparent background1/3/2024 So what other option is there? Well, there's this novel idea of using a desktop dimmer 'window' - basically a click-through full-screen GUI that is fully transparent - thus altering the screen colors. Its even more of a pain when dealing with more than one monitor. Graphics Card software adjustments: Pain in the ass, often inconsistent, and might ruin contrast, wash out colors, or otherwise not give the results you want. In different scenarios, brighter is better (games, movies). The monitor emits a high pitched noise ( common with LCD dimming).LCD brightness adjustments: Yes, this is the obvious choice. So I looked for ways to adjust this, but each thing had its limitations. Are your eyes being blinded by the bright white light leaping from your screen and burning your retinas out? Yeah, so were mine. The background image would not scroll or zoom with arrange content, just be static.Īs it took just a minute from there I felt so free as to sneak in another subtle change in the next pic which would make the arrange view (again, for my eyes) look much better, background image or not: two pixel lines between tracks giving it an ever so slight 3d touch (I know, 3d ain't popular, should come up with a better description here ).Īttaching them with the forum software apparently did some harm to my mockups, they are not nearly as "artifactious" here. The difference is very subtle, but it's much easier to look at for longer terms than the aseptic plain color (subjective, of course): Here the same arrange with the tiled background (I tried to match color as best as I could to the previous image). I took the same background I also have on my desktop, actually a tiled image, so it's actually tiny in size and memory requirement should be pretty much negligible using a pic like this. So stop talking to me and let someone professional take care of your damages.Īs to get away from Munch, Kandinsky et all, I mocked up what I have in mind talking about an arrange view background image. and who are you clown to tell me if someone is close minded? are not familiar with the concept that little kids should not always have what they want to have? and you can shove your pseudo-analytic blahblahing up your where-the-sun-never-shines and feel lucky with it there. (you can look up that name at a site called "")Īnd you, my forunately not-friend, have an ugly character, what is worse than having an ugly family. she is from a time when only Conrad Zuse knew what a computer was. My mother didnt know what a computer was for. "Never" isn't an advanced and stimulative concept. And you have problems with your mother ! Yes ? I'm right ? I think your mother had an ugly background picture on the family computer, an Amstrad 6218, maybe. ![]() It's a sect, it's a sect, they dont't want a background picture, but they use colours and themes ! Especially if you write scripts or extensions) Your request would be a great addition to REAPER. That's the strength of REAPER, it allows us to create almost perfect workflow and appearance in regards to our personal needs and ideas (you just have to be careful not to get stuck in this state of ever-evolving customization. REAPER is a great program with tons of options, but while I'm working I want to have a minimal of things available both visually and functionally so I can keep my focus on. There are things known and there are things unknown, and in between are the doors of perception I really like this quote by Aldous Huxely in regards to that topic: ![]() While intellectual thinking is important, intuition is what allows ideas to emerge from subconscious. It's important to have an inspiring environment - let's remember that REAPER is a program that helps us facilitate music creation - creation requires a flow and that flow is to fast for the intellect. I completely understand and agree with you Barrail. I'll see if I can find a ticket for it in the tracker. ĮDIT: Yes, sure it's been requested before. If I then find myself not seeing what's going on, I promise not to complain, but choose another one. I don't find it massively important, but sure would use it. Instead of being a distraction, I wager the claim that they can actually help stuff on the arrange to stand out. I personally find any of them easier on the eyes than a perfectly plain color or the alternating even/odd track coloring Reaper provides (which is looking weird as soon as you hide tracks from the arrange). Logic provided (and likely still does) several tile-based arrange backgrounds which added a subtle structure or grain. And where did Barrail complain that he doesn't see what's going on on a track? Picture doesn't necessarily mean you pin a Van Gogh or Kandinsky into the arrange view. I am really struggling with how the hell someone wants a bg pic for the main window and then complain about not seeing whats going on on a track.
